I just watched the episode of Sex and the City that deals with the fact that single people give TONS of money to their married friends for lingerie showers, wedding showers, baby showers, etc and single people don't get shit.
We buy our own kitchen appliances and home furnishings from scratch. No gifties for us.
If I'm still single in 10 years, I'm marrying myself and I want presents. Because Carrie is right, I want a reward for not marrying the wrong guy, or managing to not get knocked up. I want lingerie, I want kitchen stuff, and instead of baby stuff, I want shoes.
For example, you would not believe the amount of money I'm laying down for a wedding shower and lingerie shower next week. I'm a host.......................and I'm happy to do it, but I want some shit, eventually as well!!
Hmph......Sarah V is my last single friend. Seriously. The last. Maybe she'll join me and we can have a co-party.
