I just saw this commerical for some church and I swear the guy said this

"If you come to us and accept Jesus with all your heart, soul, and mind, everything else in your life will fall into place"

That is such bullshit. That is such a manipulative and dangerous thing to tell people.

I think it's pretty well known to my friends that I consider myself a Christian (though an obviously liberal one with some disagreements about certain topics) and that is NOT what religion is about. It's about a source of comfort and support and love to get you through the rest of your often difficult life. It does not take away strife or hurt and when you tell people that it will, then it seems as if something is wrong with THEM if they don't immediately have their shit together.

I just watched like four episodes of Supernatural with fahrbot and Lindsey and now I'm scared to go wash my face and look in the mirror OR turn off the lights OR look in my closet.
